▶ COGNITIVE SCIENCE
Dr. YoungHoon Kim holds the world record titles “The World’s Highest IQ Person Now” and “The World’s Highest IQ Score,” with an IQ of 276. The record has been independently verified by the World Memory Championships, the World Memory Sports Council (WMSC), Official World Record®, the Korea Record Institute, the International Non-Olympic Committee, and Noble World Records. It has also been endorsed by an Accredited Professional Statistician™ with a PhD in Statistics from the University of Oxford, scientifically validated and clinically affirmed by the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS), and scientifically published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal, indexed in major academic databases including PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine), Scopus (Elsevier), PsycINFO (American Psychological Association), and ESCI (Web of Science).
▶ BRAIN & MIND SPORTS
As the mind sports specialist, YoungHoon Kim is Tony Buzan Honorary Professor in Creative Thinking at the Tony Buzan Academy and University, and an Honorary Council Member at the World Mind Sports Council, World Memory Championships, World Speed-Reading Championship, and World Mind Mapping Championship in recognition of having the world's highest IQ record. He was the first South Korean arbiter at the World Memory Championships and Asia Pacific Memory Championships. In 2024, he became an official member of the Ratification / Awards Committee of the World Memory Championships of WMSC, founded by Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Maps. In 2025, he was officially recognized with the distinguished title of Honorary Grand Master of Memory (GMM), awarded through the independent authority of the World Memory Championships and the World Memory Sports Council (WMSC). In the same year, Dr. YoungHoon Kim was appointed Deputy President of the World Memory Championships and WMSC after his record for the world's highest IQ was recognized. Dr. Kim was also awarded the title “The 2nd Tony Buzan” as the official intellectual successor to Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Maps.
▶ EDUCATION & RESEARCH
Dr. YoungHoon kim studied academic degrees in psychology, neuroscience, counseling & coaching, linguistics, sociology, philosophy, and nondenominational theology at King's College London Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, University of London, Korea University, and Yonsei University (#1 private university in Asia). In recognition of significant contributions to the field of cognitive science, Dr. YoungHoon Kim was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science in Cognitive Science (DSc, hc) degree from the American Management University; Honorary Doctor of Education (EdD, hc) degree from the European City University; Honorary Doctor of Advanced Studies in Psychology (DPsych, hc) degree from Universidad Azteca, establishing the world record title "The World's First and Youngest Honorary Doctor of Science in Cognitive Science" at the Supertalent of the World Record and Korea Best Record Institute. In addition, Dr. YoungHoon Kim was appointed Honorary Professor in Strategic Thinking and Leadership; Cognitive Education and Leadership at the universities.
NOTE
YoungHoon Kim has formally stated that he has no affiliation with Official World Record. He further clarified that, at the time his world’s highest IQ record was officially certified, he was not associated with any organization, including the World Memory Championships. His involvement with such entities occurred only after the official recognition of his abilities. The official press release clearly affirms that his record was recognized at the World Memory Championships in 2024, with his formal appointment taking place in 2025. Mr. Kim has requested that inaccurate or misleading claims to the contrary cease to be circulated.
Under independent scientific standards, the IQ score of 276 (SD24), equivalent to IQ 210 (SD15), attributed to YoungHoon Kim has been recognized as clinically and scientifically valid. According to the peer-reviewed WISC®–V Technical Report # 6: Use of General Ability Index (GAI) and Extended Norms by Raiford et al. (2019), human IQ can officially be measured up to 210 (SD15) using extended norms. This confirms that Kim’s reported score falls within the maximum measurable range supported by standardized psychometric instruments and clinical methodology.
YoungHoon Kim's world record for the highest IQ has been officially recognized in academic circles, leading to the conferral of three honorary doctorate degrees in the fields of psychology, cognitive science, and education.
Dr. Ronald Hoeflin, founder of Mega Society, founded the cryptocurrency coin company IQ Olympiad Foundation Ltd. However, Younghoon Kim and his organization United Sigma Intelligence Association (USIA) are not affiliated with the IQ Olympiad. Above all, Younghoon Kim does not want to have any relationship with the cryptocurrency coin company operated by Mega Society's founder, and also YoungHoon Kim opposes Mega Society's support of an alleged sex offender and extreme racial discrimination through eugenics. Therefore, Younghoon Kim voluntarily resigned from Mega Society in August 2024.
YoungHoon Kim is not the founder of the GIGA Society Professional. The society was founded by the Brain Trust Charity, established by Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Maps.
